ANTI-DISCRIMINATION LAW

State and federal laws and regulations protect you from discrimination based on certain protected classes in employment, public accommodations, healthcare, and schools.

DISABILITY ACCOMMODATIONS
AND PROTECTED LEAVE LAWS

Employers often fail to properly implement or explain the various laws and policies applicable to sick leave, family and medical leave, victim leave, and disability accommodation laws. Educating yourself on this topic can be enormously empowering.

ANTI-RETALIATION LAW

State and Federal laws and regulations prohibit retaliation for certain types of “protected activity.” 

WAGE THEFT - INDIVIDUAL, COLLECTIVE, AND CLASS ACTIONS

Employers are required to pay you all wages due and owing, to make deductions in only very narrow circumstances, to correctly classify you as an employee if you do not meet the “independent contractor” test, and to correctly classify you as overtime “exempt” versus “non-exempt.”
